My Journey on InterVarsity Staff
For his first year at the University of South Florida (USF) Bradford Everett stayed on the fringe of the InterVarsity chapter, sitting in the back row of the weekly Large Group meeting. In 2008, as a new InterVarsity staff, Brad served as a BCM Campus Staff Minister at the University of South Florida. After 2 years in this role, he transitioned to Team Leader for the University of South Florida out of a heart to form the chapter into a place of belonging for all students. After 2 years in this role, Brad developed a vision and structures that grew the chapter from 150 to 250 students including a leadership team of 60 students, all committed to reaching unreached corners of the campus. In the summer of 2012, Brad transitioned to be the Team Leader in St Petersburg, FL, where he was charged with planting an Area. Within his first year, he led planting work on 4 community colleges and recruited 2 staff. He was then appointed the Area Director of Tampa Bay, overseeing work across 5 counties and the eventual multiplication of this Area into two Areas, Florida Bay and Suncoast. In addition, Brad founded and directed the Florida black student conference (Voice of Legacy), revamped and directed the Tampa Urban Program, and supervised a team of 13 staff and volunteers.
In 2018, Brad became BCM’s National Associate Director where he coordinated the development of BCM resources, coached planting work at FSU, Florida Memorial University, and Bethune-Cookman University, and held major roles in BCM staff conferencing.
Brad’s additional leadership experience includes church planting, experience as a nonprofit board chair, and church governance. Finally, as a poet, visual artist, and computer science major, Brad brings a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking to every position he holds.
Those who know Brad testify to his deeply rooted spirituality, his commitment to ethnic justice and reconciliation, his skills in designing and executing organizational systems, his gifts in visionary communication, and his commitment to InterVarsity’s mission to catalyze movements on every corner of every campus.
With much love and dedication to his family, Brad now serves as the Regional Director of the Southeast and a national liaison for Black Campus Ministries.
